Some prefer the reassuring clickety-clack of a noisy mechanical keyboard. Others crave the quiet spring of membrane keys. Razer’s Ornata keyboard combines the two into something called Mecha-Membrane, and it really is the best of both worlds.
From the top-down view it looks like any black and green Razer keyboard, but it’s definitely a different beast. The Ornata lurks between the flat membrane keys of the Deathstalker and the full-sized mechanical switches of the BlackWidow. It features half-height key caps for fast finger travel, and underneath the keys is a combination of tech that brings out the best in both mechanical and membrane keys.
By combining a membrane dome with a mechanical switch, Razer’s Ornata delivers the tactile feedback of a mechanical keyboard without nearly as much noise or stress during extended typing or gaming sessions.

What I Did With It
Along with questioning the point of this heading in my hardware review format, I typed. I typed a lot. In fact, I typed just about anything you’ve read from me over the past week using the Razer Ornata. I also changed its LED colors, if you must know.

What I Liked
Click Jumping: The spring of the membrane coupled with that lovely mechanical click and the half-eight keys mean my fingers fly across this thing. It feels like they are being actively propelled from key to key.

Not Too Quiet, Not Too Loud:
It’s a lovely middle ground, which might sound louder than it is due to the camera’s proximity.

The Wrist Rest Is Nice: I normally remove a detachable wrist rest and set it aside, but the soft material of the Ornata’s magnetically-attached rest is too comfy to give up. The low-profile keys play a part in that, I am sure.

Lights, Chroma, Action: More and more games and applications are supporting Razer’s customizable lighting effects. Not only can I get custom interactive configurations for my games, but there are also layouts for apps like Photoshop or Premiere, programs I use in my everyday work. It’s functional as well as ornamental.

What I Didn’t Like
The Wrist Rest Slide: As soft and lovely as the wrist rest is, it’s connected to the keyboard via a relatively weak magnet and is prone to shifting.

Love the wrist rest, wish it would stop trying to escape.
Final Thoughts
Both sides of the keyboard crowd, mechanical and membrane, are fiercely loyal to their particular preference. I’ve been walking the line between the two for years. Now there’s a keyboard on that line, the Razer Ornata. Will both sides embrace it, or will they call it an abomination and chase it out of the village with torches? I don’t know, man, but they should definitely give it a try first.
It seems that ever since I upgraded my Razer Blackwidow Config software to the 'Razer Synapse 2.0' program, my Razer Blackwidow keyboard has been randomly entering keys by itself.
Like, I'll just be in the middle of typing something like this, and it'll randomly stick a '7' in. Or a 'b'. Or some other key. It's not just letter keys either; Three times now it has randomly pressed F11 in the middle of typing, causing Chrome to go full screen. Any ideas what's going on?
I tried looking in Razer's support, but it's only general FAQ/troubleshooting, and I can't find where to contact any kind of 'tech support'. Going to try reinstalling the software and see if that works.

I made a thread recently about my mouse cutting out when pressing the right side buttons on my Razer Lachesis. Right before i took it apart and used it as an ass wiper i decided to reinstall the Razer drivers i had previously installed and uninstalled months before.
Upon reinstalling the drivers and going into the profile manager it turns out these two buttons were assigned to 'Profile Switch', so every time i was accidently hitting these buttons in game i was losing mouse control and re-gaining it with a completely different mouse profile, causing me to endlessly adjust my in-game mouse sensitivity to make up for it (and causing me to believe my mouse was dying).
I do not need these drivers, nor do i like them, i was perfectly comfortable with my windows mouse settings. I cannot get used to the settings that come with the driver and it appears they have permanently adjusted my mouse? There is no 'default' mode, only what the driver brings. My question is, how do i completely and utterly obliterate all signs of these shitty Razer drivers on my computer short of formatting?
As i mentioned i have already uninstalled them in the past and removed reg entries manually yet the effects of the driver remained present. My mouse just doesn't feel right, cant play properly, is there any hope?

I recently bought a MacBook and I'm trying to use it with my Razer Lycosa keyboard. OS X doesn't seem to be able to map — or even detect — the Windows key at all. I'd like to use it as the Command key. Is this possible?

Sometimes the 'gaming mode' gets activated on the Lycosa, which locks Windows Key (command key on Macs).
Instructions on how to disable gaming mode are available on the Razer site
You can activate the gaming mode for Razer Lycosa by pressing and holding the Razer Logo at the TouchPanel and then pressing the Windows key. This will deactivate the Windows key. To reactivate the Windows key you just need to press and hold the Razer Logo at the TouchPanel and then press the Windows key again.

Introduction
Keys sticking on your Blackwidow Razer? There is probably food or soda underneath.
No parts specified.
- Before you do anything, take a picture of the entire keyboard so as to know where the keys go at the end
- Gently remove the key by pulling or popping it off.
- With the keys that have a bar, make sure to move the key itself off of one side of the bar from where it connects to easily allow the other side to be removed as well.
- Another way to do it is to push the bar itself out gently with the metal spudger.
- Mount and blade 2 coop. There could be food or other particulates underneath the key or on the keycap itself that may be making the key either stick or not move.
- There could also be soda residue on the keyboard itself making the keys stick to it, make sure that it is wiped away.
- Inspect the keyboard and the caps one last time to make sure there isn't anything left that could make the keys stick.
- If there is nothing underneath but the keys are still sticking, replace the keycap with a new one.
- Gently pop the old or new key back into its place, ensuring that it is tight and secure.
- Make sure that the bar that belongs to some of the keys has not popped out of place. If so pop back into place in the sockets it has underneath.
- For the keys with a bar, slide one side into the bar and then use the metal spudger to pop the other side into place and test the keys to see if it still sticks.
- Use the picture from the beginning if necessary to make sure all the keys are in the right place.
Once the device is reassembled, test the keys to make sure they don't stick. Make sure to maintain your keys because they can start to stick again later on if not maintained.
